Office of Code Enforcement

     With more than 20 subdivisions currently under development in Oakland, and several commercial construction projects underway, Oakland's Code Enforcement office is one of the town's busiest departments. Building permits, fence permits, sign permits, and applications to submit to Oakland's Planning Commission are handled through this office. You can download permit applications by clicking the link above. Walter Owen, Code Enforcement Officer, oversees the department and its inspection programs and permitting ordinances. He brings 15 years of experience to the position. The Code Enforcement office is located at 75 Clay Street, across from Oakland's City Hall, and may be reached by calling 901-465-3108. Office hours are 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., with the office being closed from 12 Noon until 1 p.m. for lunch.
